Marie Snider grew up in
northern New York, just 50 miles from the Thousand Islands in the St.
Lawrence River, in Lewis County -- a land of lakes and woods, of maple syrup
and cheeses.
A land that once belonged to
the brother of Napoleon Bonaparte, who kept a gondola on the Black River
and hunted in the Big Woods.
Now she lives
on the beautiful prairie in the center of the country, with her husband,
Professor Emeritus Howard Snider.
In between she went to school in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia; taught in
Kitchener, Ontario; worked in public relations at Goshen College, Indiana;
and lived with her family in Edmonton, Alberta.
She has a
master's degree in communications and worked as a public relations
professional for nearly 25 years, earning many national awards for her
publications.
For the last 15 years she has been writing a syndicated column -- "This
Side of 60."
She is listed in many
biographical volumes, including "Who's Who in America" and "Who's Who in
the World."
